But Macksville takes the cake for the most infamous preserve—the truck jam.
We might be days away from traffic congestion relief, but it seems that fate is having the last laugh.
There was pandemonium on the old bottleneck bridge yesterday as two truck drivers again misjudged the available space on the narrow two-lane crossing.
At around 3pm traffic was once again backed up along the highway as the two drivers had to negotiate strategic reversals.
And anyone listening in on CB radio would have copped an earful as the two drivers tried to work out how to get themselves out of their proverbial pickle.
Guardian News’s own Bekki Unwin was on hand to capture the moment as it unfolded.
HAIRY MOMENTS:
Fingers crossed that this will be the last time that Macksville gets a spoonful of truck jam—we’ve had a gutful of it already.
Just a reminder that maintenance works will be carried out from tomorrow night on the old Macksville bridge and may lead to temporary closures.
