The women’s refuge is one of 12 charities that were gifted Christmas hampers from the volunteers at Mid North Coast community care organisation Omnicare Alliance.
The hampers included food, snacks, drinks, treats and Christmas surprises.
“The Samaritans were chosen, as they operate the Kempsey Women’s Refuge, providing crisis accommodation and outreach to women and their children. In addition, a separate service – the Community Hub, has been created to offer help to women and children who face homelessness,” a statement by Omnicare said.
“All of our staff, volunteers and clients got right behind the initiative, and now we have 12 overflowing Christmas Hampers to go to families in our communities,” Omnicare chief executive John Carroll said.
“This will certainly become a Christmas tradition each year”.
