Entering the world at 2.02pm on New Year’s Day, little Jack was the first newborn to arrive at the Kempsey District Hospital in 2018.
Proud dad Gavin Saul said mum, Tina Hughes, and bub are doing well. Baby Jack has four older siblings.
Across the pond, in Wauchope, first-time parents and Wauchope locals Sam Craig-Mullard and Elijah Alexander were thrilled to welcome their baby girl Sophia Rose Alexander-Mullard.
Baby Sophia was the first baby born at Port Macquarie Base Hospital in 2018. Mother, Sam, spent New Year’s Eve watching the fireworks from a ferris wheel at Young’s Family Carnival. Three hours later she was in labour.
