Police located a 20-year-old man nearby who, when approached, allegedly threatened police with a large knife.
They subdued the man with capsicum spray and he was arrested without further incident.
The man was charged at Macksville Police Station with destroy/damage property, use offensive weapon with intent to commit indictable offence, and wield knife in a public place.
He was granted bail to appear before Macksville Local Court on January 18.
Drunken assault
Last Friday afternoon police arrested a 27-year-old man at a Congarinni address following investigations related to the assault of a 30-year-old man at a licenced premises in Nambucca Heads on Boxing Day evening.
The male victim sustained a severe head injury as a result.
The accused was charged at Macksville Police Station with intentionally choking a person with recklessness and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
The man was granted bail to appear before Macksville Local Court on January 18.
Domestic violence
On Sunday at about 8:15pm, police arrested a 21-year-old man at a Macksville address following investigations related to a domestic violence incident earlier the same day in which a number of persons were threatened with a knife.
The man was charged for three counts of intimidation, being armed with intent to commit indictable offence, and breaching an AVO and will appear in Macksville Local Court on January 11.
