Carol Vernon, Convenor of Bellingen District Greens, said the visit was particularly well timed given local events.
“The launch in Bellingen of Christine’s book, An Activist Life is timely, given the current level of local activism for a number of causes – protecting vital Koala habitat, our rivers and biodiversity from destructive logging practices, putting local lives on the line in the Stop Adani movement, and the relentless work of our local Rural Australians for Refugee group, to name just a few.
“Christine is an eloquent and passionate speaker, across a range of topics, such as climate change, and restoring democracy, Come along, listen, be inspired and ask questions. You won’t be disappointed.”
Christine Milne will also sign books and speak at a dinner in her honour at C.ex Club Urunga from 7pm on Wednesday. It will be a smorgasbord for $30 with vegetarian and vegan options.
