Across NSW, more than 165 million drink containers have been returned through the scheme since it commenced on December 1.
NSW Environment Protection Authority Acting Chair and CEO Anissa Levy encouraged everybody to support Return and Earn and thanked the community who were already participating.
“Whether you regularly return or are joining in for the first time, you can exchange your eligible drink containers by visiting a collection point and claiming either your 10 cent voucher or a PayPal e-payment refund from a reverse vending machine, or a cash refund from an over the counter site,” Ms Levy said.
“There are now more than 500 collection points across NSW including reverse vending machines, over the counter sites and automated depots for large returns, with more being rolled out each week.”
Most drink containers between 150ml and three litres are eligible. This includes glass, plastic, aluminium, steel and some cartons. Containers returned to a reverse vending machine do not need to be in pristine condition but should be empty and uncrushed, and have the label intact. This is to ensure the label can be scanned at the collection point and the container be confirmed as eligible for the 10c return.
