Green was the order of the day! We were delighted to welcome as our Guest Speaker local historian and author Mr John Lean. John spoke to us about the history of the early settlement in the Bellinger Valley and some of the pioneer families who forged out livelihoods, which have survived to this day.
Our street stall held on March 10 was a great success. Thank you to all who contributed their time and talents. The lucky winner of our raffle (a tray of fruit and vegetables) was Mr Roger Bassey of Bellingen.
There will be a bus trip on Friday, April 27 at 10.30am to visit the Yarrawarra Aboriginal Cultural Centre, followed by lunch and a talk about bush tucker. Cost $14 for bus, lunch cost $17 (two courses). Meet at the Bellingen Pool to pick up the bus. For bookings please ring Anne Hickey 6655 8674 or Anne Epstein 6655 9073.
Our Bellinger Valley VIEW Club continues to work to raise money for young disadvantaged students whom we sponsor through the Smith Family.
