At yesterday’s meeting Kempsey Shire Council decided to move ahead with the Voluntary Planning Agreement (VPA) for the cinema project.

This means the cinema will be built by Gowings at the Kempsey Central location.
What was touted as D-Day, lived up to expectation with a heated debate taking place prior to the vote.
Members of the public and councillors from both sides fired shot after shot.
In the end, councillors had the final say with the count six in favour and three against.
