The new look shop was renovated on the back of a generous donation from the late Dora Gardener.
Executive officer for St Vincent's Michael Timbrell said the revamped store will help locals in need.
“We will be able to utilise this new store and hopefully be able to raise the much-needed funds to support local people in this community,” Mr Timbrell said.
“The aim moving forward is to be able to support everyone who is in need using this store alone, as in the past we have needed to receive funds from other regions to help aid the people in this shire.”
Ruth Usher has volunteered her time at the Vinnies store in Kempsey for the past 17 years and she is “over the moon” the shop was able to receive renovations.
“It was very old and it needed some work done to it for a while,” Ms Usher said.
"There was talk about renovating it for close to 10 years so I am glad it was made possible, I am over the moon with how the store looks.”
Mr Timbrell acknowled it was a real team effort from all of the staff and vounteers involved with the Kempsey store, but mentioned a special thank you to Retail Officer Kim Boyd, who had put in extra work to make the renovations a reality.
The Vinnies store saw two cultures joined together during the reopening ceremony.
John Kelly performed a smoking ceremony and the traditional water ceremony was incorporated with the blessing from Father Michael.
