Since its inception in 1974 Nambucca Valley Care Limited (NVC) has evolved to the point where the current business name does not fully reflect the diversity of services provided by this local not-for-profit company.
The directors have called an Extraordinary General Meeting to update the registered business name from Nambucca Valley Care Limited to NVC Group Limited.
The change of name preserves the historical roots of NVC and provides a platform for the next phase of its development reflecting the diversity of the organisation.
“The evolution of the sector, the demand driven by older Australians, and legislative changes over the past forty years has necessitated a continuous path of adjustment in the way services are delivered,” NVC chairman Janine Reed said
“NVC has had two changes to the trading name over the past forty four years.”
“These changes of name have coincided with the evolution of the company, reflecting the increasing diversity of service provision.”
The last update of the trading name coincided with NVC expanding it services and range beyond Macksville after incorporating new services at Nambucca Heads.
“Today, the company reach extends well beyond the Valley,” she said.
“It is now timely to update the trading name of the business to reflect this geographic diversity and the range of services and supports available to the community.”
Mrs Reed said the current climate is squeezing small to medium enterprises, with subsidies diminishing, demands on services increasing and a continuing nation-wide consolidation of businesses in the sector, and that NVC needed to work deftly to ensure its future.
“The choices for NVC are to continue with expanding the suite of support services in the group, and accelerate the diversification of its business, or risk its long term viability,” she said.
“But the fundamentals of NVC remain unchanged, with a steadfast commitment to the Nambucca Valley. One constant is the commitment of NVC to continue to strive to provide care services and products that meet the needs of Valley residents across the ageing continuum.”
