The Valley Performers are gearing up again with another fabulous farce.
A new year, and a new cast of fresh faces proves the local theatre troupe has increased its pulling power.
And this year, they’re also delighted to welcome another beloved community group on board.
The Nambucca Valley VIEW Club will be teaming up with the Performers to raise money for the children’s charity, the Smith Family.
The Play
Set on the Gold Coast in the seventies, the Hotbed Hotel by Michael Parker promises to be another scandalous laugh-out-loud romp which already has the crew cackling in their flares.
After eight years, the Codys are desperate to sell their ‘one star hotel’ to the only man who has expressed interest in buying it.
He’s not expected for weeks, so the Cody’s are caught off-guard when they receive a phone call informing them he is arriving that afternoon.
They have few guests, so they hurriedly hatch a plan to make the hotel appear busier and more prosperous than it is.
Nothing goes according to plan and chaos accelerates, in true farcical style.
In the end, audiences will be asking “Will the real Mrs. Lewis please stand up” and “Where can I buy some of that Italian ‘mineral water’?!”
