The Kempsey Saints Green side delivered the Macleay Valley Rangers their first loss of the Women’s Northern League season.
The 1-0 victory drops the Rangers from first place to third, but on equal competition points with the second-placed Saints Green.
The win wasn’t without controversy as the lone goal from Saints was met with a cry of off-side from the Rangers’ players.
Nevertheless, the goal stood and the Rangers weren’t able to find an equaliser.
The two sides showed off their talents in defence and proved they are finals contenders.
Meanwhile Kempsey Saints White were dominated in a 6-0 loss to the Port United strikers, who moved back onto the top of the table on the back of the victory.
The South West Rocks Stingers played out a 0-0 draw with the Camden Haven Redbacks.
The goalless draw keeps the Stingers sitting in fourth place on the ladder while the Redbacks are in seventh.
Last year’s premiers are beginning to find their form again and they earned a 6-2 victory against Port FC.
The win lifts the Waratahs into fifth position while Port FC remain in second last spot.
The Upper Macleay Yowies grabbed their first points of the season as they had the bye on the weekend.
The Yowies are searching for their first win.
