There is still one more item to be raffled off but at this stage the club, along with the generosity of the community, have raised just under $20,000.
More than 140 people took to the greens to compete for the Business House Shield Perpetual Trophy and it was fitting the group of doctors and nurses from the Kempsey District Hospital were the victors.
However, the real winner was the hospital, with the funds raised going towards paediatric and neo-natal equipment for Kempsey District Hospital’s Maternity Unit, Emergency Department and Allied Health services.
Kempsey Heights Bowling Club secretary manager Kerr Black expressed his gratitude towards the community for contributing to a tremendous achievement.
“The weekend was a great success for the Give Me 5 For Kids Campaign,” Mr Black told the Argus.
“The community came together once again to support the event and we exceeded expectations again.”
Local businesses provided items for auction and as raffle prizes, with the all of the funds raised donated to the Kempsey District Hospital.
“A special thank you to all the businesses that donated items and all of our members who assisted in the sale of raffle tickets, the barbecue and other events on the day,” Mr Black said.
“An additional thank you to my counterparts on the committee Terry Burley, Brad Short and Phillip Fritsch, and of course all the people that participated in the event, without your support this day would not be possible.”
The Give Me 5 For Kids bowls day at the Kempsey Heights Bowling Club was held on Saturday June 9.
