In a match that will potentially decide the 2018 wooden spoon, the Mustangs are full of confidence after almost defeating the side earlier this year.
The Mustangs took an early lead but weren’t able to maintain the intensity for the full match as the Hawks ran out eventual 38-26 winners. It is the Hawks’ only win of the season
The Hawks sit in second last place on the ladder, with the Mustangs trailing them by two-competition points.
A loss for the Mustangs would result them almost certainly being a lock for the dreaded wooden spoon.
It’s a stunning fall from grace for last year’s grand finalists.
Meanwhile the Mustangs Under-18.5s will be looking to get back on track after a string of losses while the Ladies League Tag will be hopeful of building on last week’s victory against the Sharks.
