Audrey is a landscape artist and has painted many beautiful scenes from her travels around Australia. Her medium is pastel.
In this exhibition, ‘CLOUDS – Their Moods, Shapes, Colours and Reflections’, Audrey has concentrated on the sky.
“The heat of the sun causes evaporation of water from oceans, rivers and lakes and. clouds are formed when this water vapour is cooled below a critical temperature called the dew point,” Audrey said.
“Cloud movements are directed by the wind and other atmospheric pressures which make the lovely shapes and patterns. The patterns and colours of clouds tell us what the weather is going to be – windy and stormy or sunny and peaceful.
“I enjoy looking at the clouds, even the angry stormy colours, because they are always changing and I believe our bodies react to their moods more than we realise.
“Most of my paintings have water in them reflecting the clouds because I think that the water and the clouds are very closely related and give beautiful reflections.”
Everyone is welcome to come to the opening of Audrey’s exhibition where a morning tea will be served.
