The Super Rig has been travelling around Australia and bringing Shannons to regional towns since 2007.
Operator Nick Hassatas has been driving the truck for around ten years and says it’s about bringing the event to regional towns.
“It’s all about going to the countryside and car and truck clubs in small towns,” Mr Hassatas said.
Mr Hassatas lives in the rig which is fully self-contained with it’s own generator, he drives from one end of the country to the other attending 65-75 shows within 50 weeks every year.
“It’s a one truck circus and everyone comes along and talks to us about the memorabilia and history of races like Bathurst and also has a go at the games and driving simulators,” Mr Hassatas said.
Mr Hassatas said travelling Australia in the truck and visiting small towns makes the job even better.
“I love the towns, when I visit a town I buy off the locals and donate to charities and local car clubs,” Mr Hassatas said.
Containing an entertainment and information centre, three interactive plasma screens, driving simulators, gaming consoles and memorabilia displays, the rig is for car and truck enthusiasts of all ages.
With over 900 requests for the rig to be roll into events and towns each year, Kempsey is in for a treat. The Super Rig is fun for people of all ages and will be at the Riverside Markets next Saturday July 7 and is all completely free.
