The loss leaves the Saints holding onto a top five spot by goal differential as the Camden Haven Redbacks clawed their way on equal competition points after securing a 3-2 win over the Forster-Tuncurry Hawks in round 13 of the Football Mid North Coast Premier League competition.
It sets up an important match when Saints host the Redbacks in round 15.
Saints will be gifted the three competition points this weekend as they have a bye for round 14.
Saints entered the round in fourth place on the ladder but were leapfrogged by the Taree Wildcats as they defeated Wauchope 1-0 on the road.
Saints’ reserve grade also suffered a hefty defeat, going down 5-1.
The reserve grade side are the defending minor and major premiers from last season and hold onto fourth spot on the competition ladder.
