Having lost two very close family members to breast cancer a few years ago, Daniel Tartak the CEO of Bingo Industries, has made it his mission to increase awareness, support and funds for two pivotal supporting charities in the fight against cancer: The McGrath Foundation and Cancer Council NSW.
Every second year, Bingo host an incredible fundraising event for the two charities, and this year was no different. Deep Blue 2018 was held at Doltone House, Technology Park in Sydney in early June.
Local businessman, Tony Smith of Midcoast Trucks was one of the three major sponsors of the event.
“I cannot overstate how proud the team at Midcoast Trucks is to be involved in this fundraising initiative, Tony said.
“It is a privilege to work with Danny and the Bingo team to assist the McGrath Foundation in placing Breast Care Nurses in regional centres like our own, and to aid the Cancer Council in expanding their programs for support, awareness and treatment of cancer and associated diseases.”
With a brand new Pink Isuzu FVZ supplied by Midcoast Trucks standing on display at the entry to the event, Tony, along with wife and business partner Adrienne, took a group of 18 employees (and partners) and contractors, who work closely with Bingo Industries in the supply and production of their new Isuzu trucks, along to the event in Sydney which was hosted by Channel 9’s Tim Gilbert, entertainment provided by the beautiful Delta Goodrem, and moving speeches by Glenn McGrath, Co‐Founder and President of The McGrath Foundation, Jeff Mitchell, CEO Cancer Council NSW.
“This is the third time we have sponsored this event, and every event is bigger and better than the last, as far as fundraising totals are concerned, but with thanks to the generosity of the sponsors, the attendees who participated in the live auction, the silent auction and the raffle, we were able to raise a staggering $706,000!
“With $353,000 going to each of the charities, the McGrath Foundation will be able to place more Breast Care Nurses in areas where needed and the Cancer Council can continue their campaign for education and support for patients and families of cancer sufferers.”
“The outcome of this event, and the support of those in attendance is testament to the wide‐ spread affect cancer has on the community at large and to be able to contribute in the fight against cancer is something I am beyond honoured to be able to continually support,” Tony concluded.

Cancer Council NSW gives thanks
“Cancer Council is delighted to receive such a generous donation following Bingo’s Deep Blue event.
“The incredible total of $353,000 raised will help fund our emergency financial assistance program, a vital service which helps people affected by cancer with bill payments and expenses that don’t stop whilst they are in treatment, but may be unable to work. We are incredibly grateful to Bingo, Midcoast Trucks and all who attended the evening for their support.”
- Annie Miller, Director of Cancer Information and Support Services at Cancer Council NSW.
Bingo Industries letter of thanks
On behalf of the Bingo Industries family, we wish to thank you and your company for your generous support in the various Bingo Fundraising events that we have held over the years. These include the Magical Memories 2014, Paradise Gardens 2016 and Deep Blue 2018.
Our success has been in part due to your involvement as major partner to these Fundraising Events for which we are extremely grateful.
Bingo Industries Fundraising Deep Blue Event held on Friday 1 June 2018, raised $706,000. This surpassed our expectation and could have only been achieved because of your commitment to this worthwhile cause.
Once again we are extremely grateful to you for your continued support as it helps us assist McGrath Foundation and Cancer Council to help those in our community that are in need.
- Daniel Tartak, CEO of Bingo Industries
McGrath Foundation says thank you
“We are incredibly grateful for the support that partners like Bingo Industries gives to our nurses, and as one of three major sponsors of the Deep Blue Fundraising Gala, Mid Coast Trucks has helped achieve an incredible $353,000 donation for the McGrath Foundation - which will help us place McGrath Breast Care Nurses wherever they’re needed and to increase breast health understanding.
“It is estimated that 50 people will be diagnosed with breast cancer in Australia every day this year, and the support of a McGrath Breast Care Nurse helps individuals and their families affected by breast cancer by providing invaluable physical, physiological and emotional support – from the time of diagnosis and throughout treatment. We are so grateful for this support from Bingo Industries, Mid Coast Trucks and all of the supporters at Deep Blue – together, we can make a difference.
- Lee Sayer, from the McGrath Foundation
