Mr Elliot’s already planned trip to Kempsey has been brought into the limelight after Ray Hadley aired the allegations on Fairfax’s radio station 2GB earlier this week.
A female officer at the Mid North Coast Correctional Centre has been suspended as investigations continue into allegations of an inappropriate relationship with an inmate.
In another incident at the Mid North Coast Correctional Centre, Corrective Services NSW placed an inmate in segregation after he punched another inmate on Tuesday July 10.
The assaulted inmate was checked by a nurse at the centre and did not suffer any serious injuries.
The incident was reported in the daily Incident Summary Report according to CSNSW policy.
Mr Elliot will attend the Mid North Coast Correctional Centre, alongside Local MP Melinda Pavey, at 11am on Monday July 30.
The two will also be observe a development update on the jail upgrades.
