If the club doesn’t meet the deadline Macleay’s under 18s won’t play in the semi-finals starting this weekend.
Group Three chairman Wayne Bridge and chief executive Barrie Smith met with Macleay officials, headed by president Tim Moorehead, to discuss the matter on at Kempsey Sunday.
“They assured they have the money and that it will be paid by 5pm on Tuesday,’’ Mr Bridge said.
The Mustangs’ under 18s are due to play Old Bar in the preliminary semi-final at Wauchope on Sunday. Macleay finished third following the competition-proper after beating Old Bar in the final competition round.
It has been a horror year for the Kempsey-based club. The Mustangs withdrew from reserve grade citing a lack of players after a handful of games while the club forfeited the last three first grade matches.
Mr Bridge said there was no real discussion about the club’s plans for 2019.
“They’ll be holding their annual meeting soon and they’ll take things from there,’’ he said.
Elimination semi-finals will be played at Old Bar on Saturday with the preliminary matches at Wauchope on Sunday.
