First and reserve grade travel to Orara on Saturday for their must win games and the Under 18s play at Grafton at 11.30 on Sunday.
The club has been strengthened in the past couple of years with the addition of the ladies league tag team. A number of new girls arrived at the club this year to add some skills brought across from touch football.
The Ladies League Tag highlight of the year was undoubtedly a hard fought 16-12 win against across-the-bridge rivals, Nambucca Heads. The girls are great volunteers offering significant support to the club.
The high flying Under 18s have been rewarded for excellent efforts this season being crowned minor premiers after finishing one point ahead of the young Sawtell Panthers. While the Sea Eagles will be happy with the season so far, semi-final football is a different beast and requires a committed effort right across the paddock.
The reserve grade Sea Eagles finished third on the ladder at the completion of the regular season. The side has been boosted this year by the return of some old stagers leading their pack forward. They are well organised out the back by their captain and led around the park well by their elusive hooker.
The Sea Eagles reserve grade will have to play well in a must win this week when they come up against a strong Nambucca side at Orara on Saturday.
The Macksville first grade side is set to challenge some more fancied opposition as they continue their run into the semi-finals. After finishing fifth in the regular season they fought out a tough 26-22 win over the Sawtell side at Sawtell in the first round of finals on Saturday.
The Eagles first grade side has shown huge development in the past two years and has gained the respect of their opposition with some stinging defence. They are up against tough opposition in Orara at Coramba this week in a must win semi-final.
