Grants of $2,500 to $20,000 are available to incorporated not-for-profit organisations for up to 50 per cent towards the cost of small capital projects that improve local community participation and contribute to vibrant and viable communities.
Member for Cowper Luke Hartsuyker said organisations needed to move quickly to have a chance to get projects funded.
They should contact his office by August 27 to get Expression of Interest forms as the first step.
Applicants must have an ABN and be a legal entity, such as a local government agency or body, a not-for-profit organisation that is a legal entity, or a trustee acting on behalf of a property trust with responsibility for a community asset.
To be eligible, activities must relate directly to the project and can include purchase of materials, equipment hire, lease, or purchase, and fit-out.
Projects that have already started, or where contracts are already in place, will not be eligible and all projects should be able to be completed by the end of June 2019.
“This is the fourth round of this program, so many eligible groups will be familiar with its potential to deliver great help for those smaller community projects that can make a big difference,” Mr Hartsuyker said. “Act quickly.”
Expression of Interest forms are available by ringing either Mr Hartsuyker’s Coffs Harbour Electorate Office (66526233); Port Macquarie office (65832075); Toll Free line (1300301793) or by emailing luke.hartsuyker.mp@aph.gov.au.
