The Rangers entered the final 20-minutes of their clash with Port United with a 1-0 lead.
However, a controversial penalty awarded to Port United gave the home side a lifeline and the momentum swung in their favour as they went on to secure a 3-1 victory.
Fortunately, the Rangers’ premiership hopes aren’t dashed as they have a second chance at glory.
It wasn’t a positive weekend for the Macleay sides as Kempsey Saints White were eliminated at the hands of the defending premiers Wauchope.
Saints White entered the match as underdogs but pushed their opponents to the limit in the 3-2 loss.
Next week the Rangers will play Wauchope in an elimination final while Saints Green and Port United will do battle for a grand final spot.
Kempsey Saints Green finished the season as minor premiers.
