At the Kempsey Golf Club last Saturday the members and visitors were out to remember a former member in Ray Metcalfe and to remember one of Australia golf’s favourite player Jarrod Lyle who passed away during last week.

The day was a special event for the club as a 18 hole two-person Ambrose event was held and with day sponsored by Phil and Mitch Starr the day was very successful, thanks Starry for the day.
The course was again playing very hard and fast on the fairways but a big thank you goes to all,the volunteers for there work on the course during the week.
The day did see a number of visitors from Crescent Head, Frederickton and SWR play along side the local members which made up the field of 68 players.
The winners of the day was the pairing of Kevin Miller and Bert Splithof with a score of 603/4 net. Peter Hudson and his partner Glen Tuckwell were awarded the runner up prize after there net score of 63.
The winners of the ntp’s at the 3rd hole were Paul Brose ‘A’, Peter Hudson ‘B’, Bert Splithoff ‘C’, Liz Tehan ‘L’. At the 8th hole the winners were Barry Cantrell ‘A’, Dane Callaghan ‘B’, Roger McAlister ‘C’.
The winners on Saturday at the 11th hole we’re Cantrill ‘A’, T J Smith ‘B’, Mark Marchment ( ch ).On the tough 16th hole the winners were Ross Leopold ‘A’, Michael Kemp ‘B’, Ron Ingall ‘C’.
In the weekly ball competition the winners were players with a net score of 651/4 net and they can be collected from the pro shop at the club anytime along with any unclaimed vouchers from the event last Saturday.
Tomorrow at the club Members and visitors will be hitting off from 7am in the 2018 Paul Stubbs Law Office 18 hole Medley Single Stableford event and all intending players wishing to play can book in now at the club or go online to book in for your round.
All visitors are welcome and encouraged to participate.
On the scoreboard roster tomorrow will be the week 3 team of Peter Callaghan (C), Phil Starr and Paul Brose. All players are asked to carry a bucket and replace your divots and repair all divots on the greens.
If any members wish to be part of the 2018 Harry Richardson Pennants, please place your name on the sheet at the club anytime.
The first round is due to be held on Saturday August 25 at Crescent Head.
