Matt is from Maleny and does carving exhibitions all over the country. People bring all sorts of chainsaws to this course, ranging from heavy duty saws to ones with batteries. The power from those battery saws is unbelievable and they are very light.
Coordinator Rob Stockton said this is the course he would do if he had the chance.
“I also like the fact that we are using camphor laurel that has been taken from the river banks near Gleniffer,” he said. “We’re grateful to Nick and Ruth from Valley Tree services. This is the second year in a row that they have sourced the wood for Camp Creative, stored it and delivered it to Bellingen High School for free.”
