The iconic store will close its doors on Elbow St for the last time today and will reopen at South West Rocks within the next two weeks.
While the scenery will change, customers can expect the same quality food to be served.
“Everything will still be the same, I will still be serving the Country Fried Chicken but I might add a few new things,” Marnie told the Argus.
“I will also still have my special pickles and relishes available.”
Marnie has a passion for cooking and has been working in takeaway shops since she was 21.
She’s been at the Elbow St store for the past eight years and been the owner for the last three.
Marnie has mixed emotions about moving but is excited for a new challenge.
“I am looking forward to the change, some people say change is as good as a holiday,” Marnie said.
“I will get to meet a lot of new people, locals and people on holidays.”
Marnie also took the time to thank her loyal customers over the years.
“Thank you to everyone who I have served and for being great customers,” she said.
Marnie’s Country Kitchen can be found on Paragon Avenue, South West Rocks.
