With the course in tip top condition after the showers during the week and then again in the afternoon the golfers at the Kempsey Golf Club were out playing in the 2018 Kempsey Vets Open 18 hole Single Stableford event. On the day there were visitors from Frederickton, SWR, Crescent Head, Kiama, Howlong and Karelia Golf Club taking part along side the members.

Despite the showers and one heavy down pour the scores in each grade were again very good. A big thank you goes to the Vets for there sponsorship of the event and to all the volunteers for there support during the week.
Taking out the top grade after a long time out of the winners circle and back playing some consistent golf for a while now was Graeme Dyet who recorded a very good score of 38 points to win the ‘A’ grade. The runner up on the day to Dyet was Pam Bruce with a score of 36 points on a countback from Brett Morrison.
In the ‘B’ grade the winner with a good score of 41 points was David Welsh after he had a 2 point margin over the runner up Robert Anderson who was back playing golf after giving the lawn bowls a go.
The ‘C’grade winner on the day was Graeme Hall with a score of 39 points from Junior Carlin Dunbar-Rudd with a score of 38 points.
The winners of the ntp’s at the 3rd hole were Duane Button ‘A’, Chris Gorman ‘B’, Murray Addison ‘C’. At the 8th hole the winners Brett Morrison ‘A’, Michael Fyffe ‘B’, David Tolman ‘C’.
Peter Townsend ‘A’, Dane Callaghan ‘B’, David’s Tolman ‘C’ were the winners at the 11th hole , while at the tough 16th hole the winners were Callaghan ‘B’ & Jill Stringer ‘L’.
In the weekly ball competition the winners were players with 34 points on a count back and they can be collected from the pro shop at the club anytime along with any unclaimed vouchers from the event.
The 2018 Ranbuild Open 18 Hole 4 person Ambrose event will be held at the club tomorrow and any members and visitors wishing to play can book in now at the club or go online to book in for your round. The scoreboard roster for tomorrow will see the week 3 team of Tony May & Glen Coughran on duty.
A reminder to all,players that the Thursday Open event is held each week with a walk up start from 7am on the day. All players should book in a the pro shop,before hitting for your round. For more info about any upcoming event at the club just give the club a call.
