The NSW Seniors Festival is the largest festival for seniors in the southern hemisphere. It encourages seniors to be active, social and healthy and provides them with the opportunity to get involved in their community through a variety of free events.
Council is currently coordinating a calendar of events, scheduled to be held between Wednesday, February 13 to February 24.
It will include a travelling Information Expo to be held in Kempsey, Stuarts Point and South West Rocks and events such as workshops, author talks and entertainment to be held at Kempsey Shire Library and other locations yet to be determined.
Council’s Marketing and Seniors Librarian, Mary Williams, who is on the festival organising committee, said after the huge success of Kempsey’s first Seniors Festival in 2018, Council is committed to making it an annual event.
“From the feedback Council received, participants stressed the importance of having fun whilst being able to obtain information about the types of services available to local seniors,” she said.
With this is mind, Council is now calling for Expressions of Interest for sponsors, partners and presenters to exhibit at the Seniors Expo and to sponsor the wide range of events planned.
Businesses, organisations or charities can participate by opting to be an exhibitor at the Travelling Expo or by becoming an event sponsor.
Expressions of interest close on October 1, 2018.
