While there is no significant relief in sight, we can at least look forward to an 80 per cent chance of between 1 and 5mm of rain for today.
Despite a bleak outlook for tomorrow, Thursday and Friday with less than 1mm predicted, the weekend is looking to be a wet one with a 90 per cent chance of 5-10mm on Saturday and a 70 per cent chance of 5-10mm on Sunday.
So far the wettest day this month – September 5 – has only produced 6.4mm and at this point it is unlikely we will see significant rains before the onset of October.
Regardless, with large portions of Australia still in record drought, every drop of rain helps.
