The Relief Payments aim to alleviate some of the pressure on families by supporting early childhood services where attendance may have dropped due to economic pressures, and also to boost service operators coping with additional challenges.
The funding will assist families and children in a range of ways, including transport arrangements to maintain preschool participation, crisis planning or fee subsidies to further support families.
For the Nambucca Shire, the following preschools received a helping hand:
- Eungai Pre-School, $3100
- Stuarts Point Pre-School, $3000
- Giiguy Gamambi Pre-School, $5300
- Bowraville Community Pre-School, $6300
- Nambucca Heads Pre-School, $5700
- Valla Community Pre-School, $8500
This initiative underscores how crucial early childhood education is and that support for early childhood services operating continues during the ebbs and flow of families’ incomes.
Education is the foundation upon which our children can build to reach their potential. It changes lives, and to the families doing it tough, we want to help, and we will continue to support you as much as possible through these challenging times.
Payments will be made in October.
