The 2018 Coastline Credit Union 18 hole Single Stroke event was held last Saturday at the Kempsey Golf Club with only a small field taking to the fairways. With the school holidays upon us which resulted in a number of members away on holidays the day did see some very good scores in each grade.
A big thank you goes to the team from the Credit Union for there support of golf at the club. The field did see some visitors from Crescent Head, SWR, Frederickton and Howlong and again a very big thank you goes to all the volunteers who were on the course during the week.
The winner of the ‘A’ grade was Michael Heuston from Crescent Head with a net score of 67, while the runner up was Brody Clarke who returned to form with a net 68.
Peter Hudson who was back in the ‘B’ grade took full advantage of his new handicap to record a net score of 69 for his victory on Saturday. Russell Pierpoint with a net 70 was the runner up.
John Baker from the Howlong club won the ‘C’ grade with a net 67 from Nancy Mcnamara who recorded a net 69.
All winners on the day should be checking there handicaps before hitting off in tomorrow’s event. The weekly ball competition saw players with a net score of 72 receive a ball on the day and they can be collected from the pro shop at the club anytime along with any unclaimed vouchers from the event.
The club will be remembering 3 former members tomorrow when the 2018 Dyet Family Memorial Golf Day will be held. The 3 former members Cecil, Margaret & Michael were a big part of the club for a good number of years and are deeply missed at the club by one and all.
