The event, which raised a whopping total of $6300, was described as a “fabulous success” by organiser Mary Sweeney.
F.A.W.N.A, PCYC Kempsey and the Kempsey Hospital Auxillary are all receiving $2100 each.
Despite the recent influx of nasty weather for the Macleay Valley, Ms Sweeney informed the Argus that “a good steady flow of people explored all seven gardens”, with only a handful who visited one.
The weather appeared to be on their side with only a few showers reported in the mornings before the event. Significant rain was kind enough to stay away until the afternoon.
Undeterred by obstacles, Ms Sweeney said that they would have “challenged on regardless”.
While she couldn't be sure if another event would take place next year, it wasn't ruled out entirely.
Kempsey Shire Council and Coastline Credit Union sponsored the event.
