About 11.30am today (Wednesday 24 October 2018), emergency services were called to a home on Arthur Street at South West Rocks, following reports two people had been injured. 

A 66-year-old woman and a 78-year-old man were treated at the scene by paramedics, before being taken to Kempsey Hospital in a stable condition.

Officers from Mid North Coast Police District launched an investigation and established a crime scene. 

A short time later officers arrested a man nearby after a short foot pursuit.

He has been taken to Kempsey Police Station.
