The 11-year-old was selected into the side as a batsman and played at a high level throughout the carnival.
Tom filled the role as a number four, five and six batsmen and often went to the crease in a position where his purpose was to score as many runs as possible.
Tom’s father Danny said the Rovers junior enjoyed the time away and gained valuable experience.
“When Tom went in to bat, there was only a limited amount of overs left on all of the occasions,” Danny said.
“He didn’t get much of an opportunity to showcase his skill and build an innings but he played good attacking cricket.
“Tom learned a bit more about the game and will take some positives away from the experience.
“He gained 12 more mates.”
Tom plays for the Rovers Under-14s side and will also step up into the third grade competition this season to get his first taste of senior cricket.
The Aldavilla Primary School student played in the Under-12s Mid North Coast representative team last year and was selected to play in the Under-13s North Coast side at the Northern NSW Pathway Carnival.
