Three people were injured in a high-speed head-on collision on Wilson Rd, near Spaldings Rd at Congarinni North, last night.
Local police, ambulance, fire and rescue and volunteer rescue crews all attended the scene just after 7pm.
A 33-year-old man from one car was airlifted by the Westpac Rescue Chopper from Macksville to Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.
A 73-year-old man and 65-year-old woman in the other vehicle were taken to Coffs Harbour Hospital for treatment.
No details of injuries have been released at this stage.
The road was blocked and traffic diverted after the accident until rescue operations personnel could remove the vehicles at just after 6am this morning.
