Last week Labor released school-by-school details of its plans to spend $14 billion on public schools over its first three years in office.
As a part of the $22.2 million in additional funding from 2020, 18 schools in Cowper will receive a boost of over $500,000 over three years.
“We want to reassure parents that there will be extra resources for more one on one attention for their child. This will go towards more help if their kids are struggling, more extension activities if their kids are gifted and talented, more subject choice, more continuing professional development for teachers,” Cowper Labor candidate Andrew Woodward said.
“When you talk to teachers, the number one message you get is that more support is needed in the classroom. That’s what this money is for.
“The funding is determined by the number of children at the school and the relative need of the school. A large school obviously gets more funding but a poorer school in a poorer area also gets a higher proportion of funding.”
