Dr de Luca PhD was invited to Dallas, USA to give a two hour presentation on the benefits of chiropractic for women’s health, talking about common musculoskeletal conditions that chiropractors effectively treat.
This included back pain, hip and knee osteoarthritis, bursitis and to help decrease the risk of falls for older women.
The conference is one of the largest in the US, with over 2,000 delegates attending. On a scholarly exchange, she also presented to Parker University Faculty, taught chiropractic students on the topic of geriatrics and collaborated with American researchers on future research studies.
On her return, Dr de Luca then traveled to Hobart for the Australian Chiropractors’ Association National Conference. Here she gave a 90 minute keynote presentation on Back Pain in the Elderly, sharing her clinical pearls and up to date research on managing the older patient with back pain.
This presentation was well received to over 200 Australia chiropractors. Additionally, Dr de Luca gave several research presentations on joint pain in older women, rural and remote chiropractors challenges in clinical practice and the treatment of older people by chiropractors. She came away with several awards for her research presentations.
On her return, Dr de Luca said she was very happy to settle back into clinical practice in South West Rocks, as the owner of INSIGHT Health and Chiropractic, where she runs a busy clinic with associate Theo Michelis and massage therapist Brian Hayes.
