It started Friday, then continued through the weekend finishing up Sunday evening. Pastor Claude Roberts' spoke to the Argus about how the celebrations went.
“It went great; I’m still cleaning up after everything. They were still going Sunday night. Nobody wanted to leave,” Mr Roberts' said.
This is the sixth year this Carols by Candlelight event has been held. The idea was conceived from a desire of Pastor Roberts' and his wife Alana Roberts' to bring people together at this time of year.
“Its the vision we had to bring the community together and spend time together. Everybody is always welcome to come along, the more the better.”
“Families came from near and far; we had about five hundred adults and two hundred kids.”
“It really brought the community together.”
The event had a variety of entertainment and activities including a visit from Santa.
“There were three jumping castles going; a merry-go-round, a dodge-em cars arena, a big swing, fireworks there was plenty to do.”
Next year the AICM Carols by Candlelight will change venues in an effort to share the celebration around the community.
“Next year it will be off to Burnt Bridge, then maybe South West Rocks, possibly Bellbrook, we want to share it around,” Mr Roberts' said.
