Away from local government, there was plenty more to fill the news cycle – from outrageously successful fundraisers through to individuals kicking goals in all manner of pursuits. And there were crimes and fires – as there are in all communities.
A highlight for our valley was undoubtedly the way we rallied for the farmers out west battling that devastating drought – perhaps the feelgood story of the year.
