Stuarts Point/Eungai earned their first win of the season in the Macleay Valley Cricket Association’s first grade competition after they defeated South West Rocks in the first of two Twenty20 games on Saturday.

Steve Moorcroft proved the difference as he top scored for the match with an unbeaten 71 before he also did damage with the ball, picking up two wickets from his four overs.
Trent Lynch (22), Josh Hocking (11) and Dale Jeffery (11) all chipped in to help Stuarts Point/Eungai reach 146 from their 20 overs before they restricted South West Rocks to 136 for the 10-run victory.
In the other round eight Twenty20 match, Nulla continued to get the best of Rovers as they earned an 81-run victory.
Troy Ward produced another magnificent innings to finish on 111 while Angus Crotty’s 60 helped Nulla reach 210.
Facing a massive total to chase, Rovers had to take risks but were dismissed for 129 in the 16th over.
In the round nine Twenty20 clash held later that day, Nulla again smashed their way to a massive score as Angus Crotty scored an unbeaten 119 to help Nulla reach 237.
In response, Stuarts Point/Eungai were dismissed for 69.
In the other round nine clash, Rovers extended their winning streak over South West Rocks this season as they earned a 42-run victory.
Tim Smith (57) and Paul Hutley (55) combined to help Rovers reach 182 before Josh Brenton (3/10) did the damage with the ball in hand off his four overs to restrict South West Rocks to 140.
