While the draw is as expected, with only six clubs competing in the competition, the Cannonballs and the Crescent Head region will benefit from the hosting of the NSW Country Championships.
The Championships will be held on Saturday May 11 and the open boys, Under-15 and Under-17 girls will be in attendance.
The carnival will attract hundreds of players, coaches and supporters which will result in an economic boost for the region.
Meanwhile the Cannonballs’ first grade side will have a stutter start to the season once again.
Kempsey has drawn a bye for the opening round of the competition and they will open their campaign in round two at home against the defending champions the Coffs Harbour Snappers before the competition has a bye for the Easter long weekend the following week.
The Cannons will then face off with rivals the Port Macquarie Pirates in round three before returning home to take on the Hastings Valley Vikings.
Round five will once again be a bye for the Cannonballs before they complete their first round of matches by taking on the the Southern Cross University Marlins in round six.
There’s a total of 15 rounds for the 2019 season and the top four sides in each grade will reach the finals series.
The 2019 Upper Mid North Coast first grade competition will be contested by four sides.
