At the event held at Kingscliff beach, Notley collected gold in the 2km run in the 50-59 years age group. While in the afternoon session he collected silver in the beach flags.
Notley was in line to collect another medal in the surf race when he ran into some unexpected trouble. Vicious cramps took hold while he was turning the buoy and forced the disappointed SLSC out of the race, at the time he was in second place.
In the Sunday session, Notley used his disappointment from the previous day to spur him on in the tube race and collect the bronze.
SWR SLSC officials were delighted with the performances of their club members and saw promising signs for next years country championships which will again be held by Cudgen SLSC.
