The talented young athlete won first in long jump, first in javelin, second in the 200 m, second in the 100 m, third in 400 m, and third in shot put and the senior boy's relay. This massive effort has seen him qualify for seven events for regional and four for state.
“He has always done well in sport; this is the most he has ever won in one competition though, mother Tiana said.
“Nationals is the goal this year; he has made it before in long jump, this time though he is in four events, javelin, the 100 m, 200 m and long jump, potentially more, we will find out how many when it gets closer.”
Despite only taking a serious interest in athletics two years ago, the Melville High School student has already achieved a great deal.
“I’d say he has won about 50 medals so far, it's rewarding to see him do so well, I'm very proud,Tiana said.
“Carson played other sports when he was younger, but he has always done well at athletics. It wasn't until two years ago that he asked to join the little A’s though and look at what he's already done, even with his injuries.”

Despite his talent, Tiana is proud of her boy for more than just his athletic abilities.
“Carson is an excellent sport, he always shakes hands with other competitors and introduces himself at the start of events, she said.
“A lot of the time his biggest focus isn't winning medals, it's breaking his personal bests (PB). If he doesn't win but beats his PB, then he's happy.”
The athletic youngster trains three days a week with Ritchie Donovan at Scotts Head and will be one to watch in the coming years as he tries to reach the highest levels in athletics.
“He loves it, he wants to represent Australia one day, that would be his long term goal for sure.”
