It was a day for the bowlers as both sides struggled to put runs on the scoreboard as Nulla were dismissed for 133 after 25 overs while South West Rocks managed 129 in response before they were dismissed after 28 overs.
Corey Crotty (4/29) was the pick of the bowlers for Nulla while Nicholas Morrison (2/25) dismissed both of South West Rocks’ opening batsmen.
South West Rocks batsmen Dylan Mann (55) did his best to lift his side to victory but he was run out while his teammates continued to lose their wicket cheaply.
Martin Nicholls (34), Thomas Paix (25), Chris Walker (16) and Patrick O’Loughlin (13) did the majority of the damage on the score board for Nulla while South West Rocks’ best bowlers were Daniel Tinlin (4/20), Dylan Mann (2/52) and Matt Ryan (2/10).
The loss dropped South West Rocks into third position on the ladder as Rovers earned a victory in the other first grade game over Stuarts Point/Eungai.
The bottom-placed Stuarts Point/Eungai side managed 55 runs before they were dismissed in the 18th over and Rovers wasted little time as they surpassed the total in their 13th over.
