The victories have revived the Rovers’ season as they have climbed out of second last position and now sit five competition points outside a finals spot.
Scott believes the side’s enthusiasm and willingness to contribute to the team has turned their season around.
“We always stay positive and we have a really good brotherhood within our team,” Scott told the Argus.
“We need to continue to work on a lot of areas but I believe it is our positive attitude that has led to our change of form.
“We want to play for each other and we want to succeed for our club.”
The unselfish nature of the players has led to the Rovers’ recent run and it has helped build belief within the team that they are capable of knocking off the top teams.
“The boys are very confident, we didn’t have our best day bowling or fielding against the Magpies but chasing down a big total with eight overs to spare has given the team the reassurance that we can match it with the top teams,” Scott said.
“We play against some teams that start arguing with each other when things aren’t going their way but we never do that. We always stay positive.”
With six rounds remaining, the Rovers can't afford many slip ups and they face a stern test against the second placed Wauchope RSL this Saturday.
“We need to take our catches and bowl right against Wauchope,” Scott said.
“We were on top against them in the first match with bat and ball but we lost our focus.
“I believe we won’t do that this weekend.
“We are a different side mentally then what we were then. If we all do our individual jobs this weekend, we will win.”
Rovers host this Saturday’s match, with the contest commencing at 1pm at South Kempsey Oval.
The run home to the finals will certainly test Rovers’ ability as they face three top four teams and the defending champions.
Following the match against Wauchope, Rovers will battle arch rivals Nulla, who are currently last on the competition table.
Rovers will then face off with Taree West, who are in second last position, and these two games are viewed as “must wins”.
Rovers’ final three games will be challenging as they face United, who are fourth, Wingham, who are in first, and then Macquarie, the defending champions, in the final round.
