Tallis has a long list of sporting achievements across a range of different sports.
The 11-year-old recently claimed the Macleay Age Champion for the Under-12s age group at the local swimming carnival.
The Kempsey West Public School student has excelled in Nippers for the Hat Head Surf Life Saving Club, has reached state level for Kempsey Little Athletics and also plans to lace the boots up for Kempsey Saints this season, taking a break from rugby league, which he has played since he was five, with the Smithtown Tigers.
Tallis' sporting achievements are made more remarkable when you consider the obstacles he has overcome.
Tallis was diagnosed with autism, asperges and ADHA at a young age but has persevered with sport to become the athlete he is today and the junior is hopeful he can inspire other children to not be held back by a diagnosis.
For his selection as Sportsperson of the Month, Tallis received a $100 voucher for the RSL’s restaurant.
To be considered for the award, simply provide information on the individual’s achievement and send it to callum.mcgregor@fairfaxmedia.com.au.
A sportsperson of the year will be decided upon in January 2020 with an additional voucher of $500 for the restaurant awarded to the winner.
A panel of judges from the Macleay Argus will determine the monthly and year winners of the award.
