The group can be seen tackling an area of litter after each monthly meeting and recently they targeted the South Kempsey Service Centre.
The on-ramp to the motorway in the south direction has long been a dumping ground and is a real eyesore.
Unfortunately, it took very little time to collect the usual three full bags and one member returned the next day to do further work.
Hopefully the psychology of people being more likely to litter an already littered space applies in this case and there is less tendency to dump there.
We really don’t want the last thing people recall of Kempsey being the roadside rubbish as they leave.
