The Under 12s have led the club race to the end of season, securing their place in the top four some weeks back. The aim since then has been to win enough games with enough margin to secure top spot on the ladder and earn a home semi final.
And this has been done with the Juniors finishing as minor premiers for the season, ahead of Macksville Thunder by the slightest of percentage margin. Diggers Cricket Club and Sawtell Storm have completed the junior top four.
For the club's Fourth Grade players it has been a season of mixed success with an even win / loss record to finish in fourth position clear on points. Saturday's final game against Diggers Cricket Club wasn't to affect the final four positions with Nana Glen and Sawtell Blue strong at the top of the table with just three points between them. Coffs Colts Red fill third spot on the Fourth Grade ladder.
Second Grade took their finals hopes right up to the last round with an away win needed to scrape into fourth place. The win came with Dorrigo finishing in fourth position just two points ahead of Coffs Colts. Sawtell and Northern Districts sit on equal points at the top separated by percentage margin only and Nana Glen falls just three points behind in third place.
This is a pleasing on field result for the Dorrigo Club, which was well supported by local business before the season had even started. Each team can now take a week by week approach to completing the 2018/19 season with semi finals to be played March 9, Preliminary Finals on March 16 and Grand Final games on March 23. The full season will be celebrated at the Dorrigo Cricket Club Presentation Night on March 30.
Semi Final games were not confirmed at the time of printing but will be posted on the CHDCA website during the week. For the Under 12s a home semi final is expected at Rowe Oval this Saturday March 9 with first ball from 8.30am. Full junior finals fixture will be available on the CHDJCA website.
