After claiming victory in the weekly Open Thursday competition Steve Bates continued on with his good form to claim the ‘B’ grade medal in the 2019 Millionaries 18 hole Single Stroke event which was the 5th round of the 2018-19 Monthly Medals in each grade. Bates had a 7 under net score of 65 to claim the medal from last weeks winner Paul Hollis who recorded a net score of 68 for the runner up prize. In the ‘B’ grade Bates was also the gross winner with hie impressive round of 82 on a day when all the scores in the 3 grades were very good. A very big special thanks goes to the group know as the Thursday Millionaries for there sponsorship of the day and to all the volunteers who were on the course during the week.

Taking out the top grade on the day was a player who is starting to find his feet in the ‘A’ grade after some very good scores of late. Ashley Elford was the winner of the medal with his very good score of 63 net after he started his round in spectacular fashion with a chip in for a eagle 3 on the par 5 first hole. Playing in the very first group of day was Brody Clarke who recorded a net 66 after his par round of 72 to claim the runner up prize and also take out the gross event with his par round.
The very consistent ‘C’ grade player and a player looking to reach the ‘B’ grade ranks Ron Ingall won the ‘C’ grade medal on the day after he recorded a net 68 on the day.
New player to the club Dempsey Donovan was the runner up with his net score of 69 while his round of 92 won him the gross event.
The best Junior player on the day Maddison Butterfield, and all three winners of the medals on the day will now go into the 2018-19 gold medal playoff in November.
The winners of the ntp’s at the 3rd hole were Paul Hollis ‘B’, John Yabsley who won the Monthly Celebrations Cartoon for the closest on the day and Cassie Black in the Ladies.
At the 8th hole winners were Brody Clarke ‘A’, Darren Holten ‘B’, Nicholson Ingall ‘C’. Michael Hannigan ‘A’ Ron Trimble ‘B’, Ron Ingall ‘C’ were the winners at the 11th hole while at the 16th hole the winners were Mike Brady ‘A’, Peter Callaghan ‘B’, Ariane Brose Ladies.
Don’t forget the Thursday Open event is held each week with a walk up start from 7am on the day and the 9 hole daylight saving social event is still being held each week for anyone looking for a game after lunch on Thursday. Just book in at the pro shop before hitting off.
