Kempsey Girls Academy hosted a high tea at their Academy room in Kempsey High School for female teachers, family members, and the girls
Melville Girls Academy hosted its event at the high school and each enrolled girl invited a female staff member from Melville High School as well as local community organisations and businesses that support the program.
The students prepared the food and refreshments for the event, and decorated the Melville High School library which served as the venue.

Taylah Iverach, a Year 8 student did the Acknowledgment to Country and welcomed everyone in Dunghutti language.
Kempsey Academy program manager Juli Morris delivered a presentation about the challenges faced by women and girls internationally in 2019.
Melville Girls Academy Program Manager Robyn Townsend said International Women’s Day is an important day to celebrate women.
"International Women's Day is a very important day that recognises women of all walks of life," she said.
"We would also like to thank the many local organisations and community members for their continued support with activities, sports programs, careers options and invites to their events."
There were over 37 teachers and community members who attend along with 63 enrolled Girls Academy members.
Melville Girls Academy would like to thank the organisations and businesses who came along to the morning tea and the Melville High School executive and staff for their help.
The Girls Academy is Australia’s leading in-school program for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander girls.
